Hi! I'm Jordan, a PhD student at MIT, an artist/maker, and a former product designer. I am in the Relativistic Heavy Ion Group (MITHIG), working with technologies for future detectors at the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) and beyond! I hold a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Colorado Boulder, where I did undergraduate research with the Heavy Ion Group and the Sun Group.
I started in a creative field, and hold a bachelor’s in industrial design. Throughout my design career, I served as both a team lead and a design specialist, working across hardware prototyping, interface design, strategy, and illustration. Though I transitioned into physics, I draw from my creative experience in my research work and my approach to problem-solving.
My journey has been far from traditional, and I hope my story encourages others to keep exploring and learning. I believe there are always ways to grow at any stage of life!
